Milestones in Irish History: Strongbow and the Normans

$25.00

“An enemy’s actions may hurt, but the actions of a friend turned enemy can devastate.” Join Tim Madigan and discover how the British colonization of Ireland began with the alliance in 1169 between Strongbow, a Norman-Anglo nobleman, and Dermont MacMurragh, King of Leinster. The objective of the alliance was to allow MacMurragh to regain his kingdom from Rory O’Connor, Irish High King. The end result was the domination of Ireland for 800 years by the Normans and eventually the British. Intrigue, betrayal and ongoing warfare between rival factions makes for an exciting and tragic story.
