Savor the superb writing of Dublin-born Joseph O’Connor, international best-selling author and journalist. This course will examine two of O’Connor’s heralded historical works – Star of the Sea, set in 1847 against the backdrop of Ireland’s Great Famine, and My Father’s House, based on a true story of an Italian priest’s efforts to save thousands of WW II prisoners from the Nazi occupation of Rome.

Two required course texts: Star of the Sea and My Father’s House. Advanced reading of these works is highly encouraged.
