CJAC Live Online Fall Fundraiser

October 24, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Top it off Fundraiser

We now have a matching challenge of $100,000 for 2020-2021 fundraising! Support Celtic Junction in meeting this ambitious goal with a donation.

There is an Irish proverb that says, “Life is like a cup of tea. It is all in how you make it.” While this year there can be no mingling together or circulating platters of hors-d’oeuvres, you will see familiar faces you’ve missed and be introduced to new acquaintances. Connect with us for live and recorded performances from our favorite musicians, storytellers, and poets, insightful interviews, and surprise guests.

Schedule

Education: 2pm CDT (12pm PDT, 3pm EDT, 8pm IST)
Hear from the amazing teachers and students involved in our Irish College department and our exciting initiative to build a new dedicated classroom for classes in the Irish language, history and literature, and creative arts.
Library: 3pm CDT: (1pm PDT, 4pm EDT, 9pm IST)
Learn about the Eoin McKiernan Library‘s growing collections and their work celebrating and preserving community history. With research-inspired musical performances!
Concerts: 4pm CDT (2pm PDT, 5pm EDT, 10 IST)
Watch videos of music from past CJAC concert performers and hear Cormac O’Shea and others reflect on 11 years as Minnesota’s premier Celtic-focused concert venue.
Outreach: 5pm CDT (3pm PDT, 6pm EDT, 11pm IST)
Learn about CJAC’s community partnerships and efforts to share Irish arts to the larger community and to introduce new audiences to the Celtic Junction.
The Main Event: 6pm CDT (4pm PDT, 7pm EDT, 12am IST)
Tune in and show your support with online donations in support of the Celtic Junction Arts Center during these two hours of live and pre-recorded musical performances celebrating the best of our community and past CJAC guest artists.

This year your donation will help us accomplish three main objectives.

  • Operating Support to keep our small but dedicated staff, to continue to maintain and improve our space, and to return to offering live events and quality programming when it is safe to do so.
  • Classroom Space to meet the demands of the growing enrollment of the Irish College and its educational offerings. Space has been identified and the conversion to a dedicated classroom will be completed prior to re-opening next year.
  • Reserve Fund to provide security for the organization for this year and for future economic challenges. This has been an unprecedented year, as they say. We want to be your Minnesota Irish Cultural Center for many years to come!

We cannot wait to re-open the Junction doors and reunite with our community face-to-face. Until that day arrives, we are guided by our vision to “fuel the growth of Celtic arts.” We are humbled by the response of support from you, our community. You’ve signed up for classes in record numbers, streamed videos, and checked in on social media. You put on your masks and kept your distance to support LIVE local music at the Fall Outdoor Concert Weekend last month. One of you even created a $100,00 matching challenge for us! Without you, the Celtic Junction Arts Center doesn’t exist and with your continued support, it will thrive!

Here’s a short overview of CJAC’s mission and history.
