April 19, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
$20.00Gaelic singer and scholar Richard Hill will present and teach a Scottish Gaelic workshop on “mouth-music” or puirt-a-beul. By studying and singing simple dance tunes, participants will take a look at the eternal rivalry between the wintry Cailleach and Brìde, spirit of spring. Welcoming the spring season, Richard will tell traditional Scottish Gaelic folktales through this medium of “mouth-music”. Come join your voices to explore the light-hearted joy of singing puirt-a-beul, and enjoy the wonderment of human expression in song. Lyrics will be provided.
