“Merlin and the Grail” – Robert de Boron

Classics of Arthurian literature: The Trilogy of Arthurian Prose Romances by Robert de Boron

Said to be the first actual “cycle” of Arthurian narratives, 12th century French poet Robert de Boron famously deepens in these tales the grail archetype into a “holy” grail with a definite Christian emphasis and background. Hugely influential in shaping the Arthurian tradition, these tales will clarify anyone’s understanding of the power of their appeal and enduring relevance.
