The 12th Annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend is moving online! 

Join the Center for Irish Music and master artists Matt Cranitch, Conal Ó Gráda, Benny McCarthy, Pauline Conneely, Brian Ó hAirt, Danny Diamond and Seán Gavin for MIM@Home.

The Minnesota Irish Music Weekend, presented by the Center for Irish Music, is a unique festival that pairs world-class traditional Irish musicians and teachers with learners of all ages for a weekend of workshops, lectures, a Great Session Experience and a rare and virtuosic concerts.

Each of our visiting artists is recognized for their musical mastery, and will offer insights and techniques to help learners tap into the deep roots of traditional Irish music.

  • Hannah Flowers – harp (teen program & adult workshops on Sunday)

  • Amy Richter – bodhrán workshops (Saturday)
  • Dáithí Sproule – host for interviews
  • Mary Vanorny (fiddle) – Irish Trad Immersion Camp

Programs & Workshops

Registration discounts, financial aid, and t-shirt orders are available through May 17th. 

Concerts & Public Events

All concerts in central standard time (CST) and will broadcast from the Center for Irish Music’s website. Unless otherwise noted, concerts will run for 60 minutes. Tune in 15 minutes early for pre-concert chat. Concerts are free, but a suggested donation of $10/concert to help support our artists is appreciated.

  • Saturday, June 6th, 7:30pm – MIM @ Home Preview Concert: Pauline Conneely, live from Chicago
  • Sunday, June 7th, 7:00pm – MIM @ Home Preview Concert: Brian ÓhAirt, unaccompanied song concert live from Portland
  • Wednesday, June 10th, 7:30pm – MIM @ Home Preview Concert: Advanced Youth Ensemble showcase
  • Thursday, June 11th, 7:30pm – Virtual Opening Reception, featuring Benny McCarthy in concert
  • Friday, June 12th – Great Session Experiences
    • 6:00pm-7:00pm – Junior Session, online via Zoom
    • 7:00-8:00pm – Song session, led by Brian Miller via Zoom
    • 7:30- 8:30pm – TUNES with sets led by visiting artists and local musicians
  • Saturday, June 13th, 3:00pm – Concert: Conal Ó’Gráda, live from Ballyvourney
  • Saturday, June 13th, 7:30-10:00pm – Concert: Seán Gavin, Danny Diamond & Brian Miller, live from the Celtic Junction Arts Center
  • Sunday, June 14th, 3:00pm – Concert: Matt Cranitch, live from Cork
