The McKiernan Library will host a talk by Director Brian Miller on the history of the Twin Cities Irish American Club (circa 1948-1983) in conjunction with the unveiling of the library’s new audiovisual exhibition on that group. Miller will tell the colorful story of Irish immigrants and Irish Minnesotans who came together in the years after World War II to hold weekly dances, celebrate Irish heritage, support one another and have a ball in St. Paul. After Miller’s talk, a panel of past Club members will join him to share their memories.

Irish American Club member and musician Marty McHugh will be on hand to play some tunes with Laura MacKenzie and Dáithí Sproule.

This event is part of 2022 Irish Arts Week.
