Join dancer Anna Lethert and fiddle player Danny Diamond for an intimate online concert broadcast from their home!
Anna is a dancer from Minneapolis, specializing in Irish sean-nós dance. She has recently returned from living in Ireland for nearly a decade, where she worked as a dance teacher and performer. Anna has performed at festivals in the USA, Ireland and Europe, with acclaimed artists such as Altan, Lankum, Liz Carroll, and Paddy Keenan. In 2016/17 Anna was presenter and performer with the Tunes in the Church traditional/folk concert series in Dublin. Anna regularly performs with her husband Danny Diamond, and previously guested on his 2014 debut album, Fiddle Music. In the Twin Cities, Anna collaborates with her lifelong friend and fellow dancer, Danielle Enblom.
Danny is a musician from Ireland, who plays fiddle, sings, composes music, and works as a recording engineer/producer. He comes from a renowned family of traditional musicians with a deep cultural heritage in the North of Ireland. Previously fiddle player with the bands Slow Moving Clouds and Mórga, Danny has toured worldwide, playing venues from the Sydney Opera House, The Abbey Theatre (Dublin), Brooklyn Academy (New York) to backroom bars in rural Ireland. He has shared the stage with artists such as The National and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). He currently tours internationally as fiddle player and Music Co-Ordinator with Teac Damsa’s multi award-winning dance theatre show Swan Lake /Loch na hEala, for which he also co-wrote and arranged the score. Danny teaches fiddle with the Center for Irish Music in St Paul.
