Celtic Pilgrimage with St. Columba

February 5, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Class: Come join us for a two-session “pilgrimage” in the footsteps of Saint Columba, a 6th-century Irish monk and missionary to the land we now call Scotland. We will discuss what is known of his early life and banishment from Ireland, his mission, his founding of monasteries at Iona and elsewhere, his miracle-working, and – importantly – his central and on-going place in Celtic Christianity in Ireland and Scotland.

Instructor Kathryn Wehr will lead us with an interactive blend of information, music, poetry, and visual arts, while building on her own visit to Iona and her years of tutoring in Church History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
