Belfast Cowboys: Mick Sterling Presents RHYTHMFEST at Celtic Junction

August 28, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Belfast Cowboys on stage at 1st Ave.

Sadly, this event is cancelled due to rain.

The Belfast Cowboys perform a free concert outside at the Celtic Junction Arts Center’s stage. Original blues-rock vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Cole Allen will open starting at 6:30 pm. Food trucks will be present so come hungry!

Cole Allen, critically acclaimed solo artist and guitarist for the Sena Ehrhardt Band, is “Sure to deliver what any blues rock fan yearns for!” (Blues Rock Review)

The Belfast Cowboys are a nine-piece, horn-driven band from Minneapolis that specializes in the music of Van Morrison, mixing rock, blues, roots and soul sounds. Led by veteran songwriter and guitarist Terry Walsh and powered by a four-piece horn section, the Cowboys have flourished in the renowned Minnesota music scene, and have consistently packed houses and wowed crowds since 2002.

The group has grown from being a basement jam band to becoming one of the most sought-after bands, packing First Avenue’s mainroom and playing over 120 shows a year. The bar-tested Belfast Cowboys are known for playing epic sets at their weekly Minneapolis gigs and for drawing large crowds to outdoor festivals.

Attendees at this concert are encouraged to make a free-will donation to the 30-Days Foundation, a nonprofit which helps Minnesota families and individuals in real-life financial crisis by providing a one-time grant paid only to the service provider that requires payment. They, in turn, will donate 100% of what they receive to the nonprofit started by Belfast Cowboys frontman, Terry Walsh, called Foothold Twin Cities. Foothold Twin Cities’ mission is to help families remain stable by providing a one-time payment to assist with an urgent need. Every dollar donated goes directly to families in crisis.

Mick Sterling explains, “These are things like utility payments, car payments, back rent,” Sterling said. “To prevent things from spinning out of control. To stop their car from getting repossessed. To give them a breather. We try to stop that movement and get them caught up.”

Join us for a great time!
