Everydat spirituality

Everyday Celtic Spirituality – Lent and Easter

Come explore the treasure trove of material in the Carmina Gadelica (Latin, “Gaelic Songs”), an extraordinary 19th collection of Celtic prayers, hymns, charms and rituals for everyday activities collected by Scotsman Alexander Carmichael in the western islands of Scotland.  Using an interactive style and music, instructor Kathryn Wehr will explore how this material links to the older and on-going features of Celtic Christianity, particularly recognizing and welcoming God’s presence in our everyday lives.

This class will follow the pattern of the recent “Everyday Celtic Spirituality – Advent and Christmas” class, but will cover new material for the liturgical season and is open to everyone.  We will be reading the prayers and poems in English (and links will be given for those who want to explore them in Scots Gaelic).

1 Session. 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11th.

Class fee

  • $27 discounted rate when you pay online. Help with online payment will be available at the first class.
  • $30 by cash or check (made out to 'Celtic Junction Arts Center') at the first class.

This session will explore the Tuatha de Danann. The principles of formal composition and color theory will be applied to this inspirational mythic and iconic imagery.
