BOOKS

The Eoin McKiernan Library’s founding donation was a miscellaneous “Irish-Studies” book collection, partially assembled by Eoin McKiernan personally and partially consisting of books sent to him as “review” copies in his role as director of the Irish-American Cultural Institute and other organizations. McKiernan’s particular interests were Irish history, politics, and religion (emphasizing topics related to Irish political unity), the Irish language, Irish folklore, and the arts in Ireland.

Our current book collection includes the McKiernan donation as well as additional donations from community members and organizations. We are working to grow our collection of Irish language books as well as books on the Irish arts (especially music and dance) in hopes to better serve the Celtic Junction Arts Center community and the broader Irish cultural community of Minnesota.

Books are available for in-library use only. We also offer a small lending library in the Celtic Junction lobby.

COMMERCIAL AUDIO RECORDINGS

Our collection of over one thousand commercial audio recordings is primarily Irish traditional music including many imports from Ireland-based labels on CD, LP, vinyl EP and 78rpm record. It is a rare resource for Irish traditional musicians and fans. CDs and records are available for in-library listening (Headphones and players available).
